Why This Works
High-quality research shows that workplace nutrition interventions can deliver meaningful benefits for both employees and employers. A large, highly cited systematic review published in BMC Public Health found that workplace programmes incorporating nutrition support are associated with improvements in work performance and workability, with particularly strong evidence for reductions in absenteeism.
The review highlights that the most effective interventions are those that go beyond generic wellbeing advice and are embedded within the realities of working life. By identifying preventable health risks and providing structured, practical support, dietitian-led interventions can improve energy, resilience and employees’ capacity to work - outcomes that directly influence productivity and absence rates.
In short, nutrition support delivered by qualified professionals is not a wellbeing “extra”, but an evidence-based investment in workforce performance.

About Me
Esther Schultz, MSc RD
I am a Registered Dietitian with specialist expertise in digestive health, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, and complex, persistent presentations that often do not respond well to standard dietary advice. Before training in nutrition I practised as a barrister, and this background informs my approach: careful analysis, clear communication and a strong evidence-led framework. I work with organisations to support employee wellbeing, reduce health-related absence and help staff manage ongoing symptoms that can affect day-to-day performance. My focus is on translating clinical insight into practical, realistic strategies that support energy, resilience and consistency at work.
FAQs
-
An Employee Nutrition MOT is a confidential, one-to-one health and nutrition assessment designed to identify preventable health risks that can affect energy, focus and long-term wellbeing. Each MOT includes a structured health questionnaire, relevant measurements or screening (where appropriate), a personalised nutrition and lifestyle review, and a clear written action plan.
